Mr. Liao Jiansheng is the vice-president of our Group.
Mr. Liao first joined Zijin Mining in August 2009 and has since held several key positions, including executive deputy general manager and executive general manager of the Overseas Operations Department of Zijin Mining and head of the Representative Office of Zijin Mining in Belgrade. With extensive experience in foreign affairs and international trade, and fluency in both Russian and English, Mr. Liao has played a vital role in strengthening the company’s global development and international engagement.
During his tenure with Zijin Mining, he has been deeply involved in key managerial role in the key projects comprising the Group, including his position as the deputy general manager in JV Zeravshan LLC.
Mr. Liao began his career in August 1989 and has held positions in various government institutions and agencies. These include two entities under the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of China — the China (Fujian) Foreign Trade Center (Holdings) Co., Ltd. from February 1993 to October 2001, and the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Embassy of China in the Republic of Tajikistan from December 1993 to December 1996. At the provincial level, Mr. Liao served at the Fujian Provincial Foreign Economic and Trade Cadres’ Training Center and as deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Foreign Economic and Trade Talent Exchange Service Center, both of which are government agencies under the former Fujian Provincial Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, from October 2001 to July 2009.
Mr. Liao previously also held managerial positions in the International Engineering Company of Fujian Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. from September 2012 to January 2017 and served as deputy director of the general office of China Wu Yi Co., Ltd., a company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (stock code: 000797), from January 2017 until his departure in February 2018.
Mr. Liao graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Russian from Fujian Normal University in July 1989.
