The Akyem Gold Mine is one of the largest active open-pit gold mines in Ghana, located in the world-renowned West African Gold Belt. As a typical orogenic gold mine, it features thick and large ore bodies, stable grades, and good mineralization continuity. The mine and processing plant operate stably utilizing a conventional carbon-in-leaching (CIL) process, with a designed processing capacity of 8.5 million tonnes per year, maintaining a high level of production in recent years. The project possesses significant resource potential and favorable conditions for mineral exploration; its exploration rights are adjacent to the existing mining area, providing strong support for future resource reserve expansion and the extension of the mine's lifespan.

It was a new core asset added to the Group during the year. During 2025, the project produced approximately 5.1 tonnes of mined gold, exceeding the annual plan. AISC after acquisition was approximately US$1,719/oz. Following completion of the acquisition, the project rapidly advanced tailings storage facility elevation works and completed SAP migration and accounting standards conversion. Capacity expansion and upgrade works are under way, and annual processing capacity is expected to increase from the original design capacity of 8.5 million tonnes to more than 13.0 million tonnes.

Akyem Gold Mine is committed to operating responsibly and contributing to Ghana’s social and economic development. The project promotes local employment, ensures workplace safety, and works closely with host communities through social investment programs focused on infrastructure, education, and capacity building.
